ThyssenKrupp River Marine Terminal Construction

The ThyssenKrupp River Terminal in Calvert, Alabama, was constructed to support a major steel manufacturing facility and the movement of heavy steel products along the Tombigbee River.

Construction included installation of 1,800 prestressed concrete piles, 1,100 feet of relieving platform and supporting substructures, and rail systems for three gantry cranes. The project also included shoreline protection, concrete paving, specialized gantry crane installation, and dredging of the terminal waterfront.
